I taught the Relief Society lesson Sunday. For some reason it is still plaguing me. I hope that someone, other than myself, got something out of it. One woman said it helped her see the priesthood from another point of view. But, there was however another 2 sisters that kept shaking their heads the entire time. One of them kept muttering "that's not true, we don't hold the priesthood." LOL I kept trying to explain that woman and men are equal in all the blessings of the priesthood. That when we are sealed in the temple we become a partner in the stewardship of our husband's priesthood. My example was, if your husband leaves home and you have a young son in your house with the arronic priesthood, while your husband is away who is the priesthood authority in your home? Not your son, you. This means that the Lord gives woman the abilities to receive the guidance and stewardship over her FAMILY. LOL some of the sisters just kept saying "that's not true!" WOMEN DON'T HOLD THE PRIESTHOOD! *sigh* I was like, "that doesn't mean that because your husband is away you run right out and start baptizing people or laying on of hands for healing, it simply means that you are given authority within your stewardship and that is ALL we really need as woman. I believe Gods greatest powers have two parts. The power to ORGANIZE matter and the power to CREATE. I believe that God granted us the greater of the two...I would not trade the ability to procreate just to "be in charge". Priesthood is about SERVICE, not about POWER AND CONTROL."
I wish they could have seen what I was trying to say. Who cares if the men officiate the ordinances, (one less job i have to do i say *wink*) but the POWER and the BLESSINGS of the priesthood are given to all to use within their stewardship.
I also tried to explain that the power of god is given to all to use when set apart within the priesthood. Such as if a woman is called to relief society the power of God and the stewardship of that calling is given to her to receive revelation for the sisters in her ward. THAT IS PRIESTHOOD POWER.
Well, I guess I just wanted to give my testimony for whomever my want to hear, that God is a God of perfect EQUALITY and if we have open eyes we can see all that he gives to us as women.

Way to go Malissa! It seems like the Priesthood is this nebulous concept that most people only grasp the bits and pieces. The prophet Joseph Smith himself didn't understand the priesthood for several years after he received it. They didn't know what the difference was in the higher and lower preisthoods until around 1834 or 35 but recieved the priesthood several years earlier. So, it makes sense that we can't always wrap our heads around it. We're mortals trying to live something celestial. We'll get there, eventually!!!
Malissa, I agree with Desi, I also think that some people have a hard time being open to anything beyond what they understand. Everything you said is completely correct and I agree that I would rather have the power to create - I hope someday to be able to use it!! Thanks for your comments about the temple and meeting guys. I have always felt it would be a good place to meet people just not in the celestial room!
