What was she like...

I have spent the last 3 days researching my mother and her family. I found a total of 20 pictures of when she was between the ages of 14 and 20. These pictures were all before she married my father. It has been a wonderfully fun experience. I have sorted the pictures by size, content, what she was wearing, where she was at, who she was with etc. It has been so exciting, like putting together a puzzle. Interestingly enough, I found a picture of her with some friends in Marquette, MI which is where I went to school. I have since found out that she was there for a 2 year nursing program that was started during World War II. I assume the picture was taken sometime during the late 1940's. I looked through my pictures of my time in Marquette and sure enough, I have a picture with the same street that was in hers! I was sooo excited! I love working on family history!

that is so neat to connect pictures, and learn more about your mother. awhile back i went to MI (it's where my mom's family is too) and she drove us to all the old "family farms" and took pictures...at the time i thought it was strange...but when we got home she pulled out all these old black & white pictures of back when and we compared them and she told us stories of each one. it was a really neat experience. i'm glad that you have been able to go through your family's past and learn more.
